In the first phase of this process, the type of plant envisaged provides for the “mechanical treatment” of wastes by means of a mechanical selection system, separating municipal waste into its two components – dry and wet – while salvaging ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

In the second phase of the process, the designers of the Deco group, working as a team together with some of the most qualified technicians in the sector, have developed a more complex, totally automated system in line with the best available technologies, which provides for the mechanical biological treatment (MBT) of municipal wastes, supplemented with a subsequent refining phase, for the purpose of producing waste-derived fuel (WDF) to be used for energy recovery.
